Voor de gevorderde muzikanten en studio techneuten is er nu een combinatie van Band-in-a-Box voor automatische begeleiding en de allround sequencer PowerTracks van PG Music. Daarmee kun je dus professionele studio opnamen maken en mixen van meerdere live muzikanten (zowel MIDI als audio) op verschillende tracks, en dat combineren met de automatische band en ook de RealDrums en RealTracks van Band-in-a-Box. Hoi, voor mijn home studio gebruik ik Sonar 7. Kan ik Band in a Box ook combineren met Sonar 7 voor studio recording?

Sonar 7 is mij onbekend. Vraag het eens per email aan sales@pgmusic.com.Je kunt ook het nieuwe sequencer programma RealBand van PG Music overwegen, dat is een combinatie van een 48 tracks sequencer voor MIDI en audio met een complete Band-in-a-Box ingebouwd. Hi John,
Je kunt de tracks vanuit BiaB renderen (heel gemakkelijk) en de losse tracks, importeren in Sonar. Je kunt de Realdrums en RealInstruments als wav saven en de MIDI-tracks als MIDI verder in Sonar bewerken, of je kunt ervoor kiezen de MIDI tracks door BiaB naar een wav-file te laten renderen.
Als je Sonar 7 al hebt, dan zou ik voor BiaB gaan ipv Realband. de versie van BiaB die in Realband ingebakken zit, is toch net iets minder uitgebreid dan BiaB zelf. Ook de ingebouwde sequenser is een afgeslapte versie van Powertracks.
Heb je nog niet een sequenser, dan is Powertracks een zeer voordelige ($49 meende ik) maar zeer uitgebreide sequenser. Ik heb zelf Realband, Biab 2008.5 (full package) en Powertracks van PG-music. Ik gebruik echter meestal BiaB en bewerk de tracks verder in Cubase SX. Wanneer ik de TC-Helicon harmoniser (software) wil gebruiken dan doe ik dat in Powertracks.
Op mijn site, bij de demo's, staat het nummer "All kinds of things". Dit nummer heb geschreven en geproduceert met alleen maar BiaB (toen nog 2007) en Powertracks, dus ook geen externe synths, galm, compressors etc.

Hoi Mike,
Bedankt voor je reactie. Ik werk inderdaad al langer met de volledige versie van Sonar 7 en die bevalt me werkelijk perfect. Dus overstappen naar een ander sequence programma is niet aan de orde. BiaB zou (en zal waarschijnlijk) een aangename aanvulling zijn om even snel een basis te leggen voor wat nieuwe ideetjes. Daarnaast moet ik zeggen dat ik weliswaar een Yamaha Clavinova CVP 207 heb, maar niet echt een toetsenman ben. In feite ben ik een gitarist in ruste, wat betekent dat ik allen nog thuis speel en ook, puur voor mezelf en voor de fun wat aan home-recording doe (en dat wil ik zoveel mogelijk zo houden). Basis akkoorden op de clavinova lukken wel, maar wat ingewikkelder schema's, helaas, dan haak ik wel af. Ik heb daarvoor ooit eens een midi gitaar geprobeerd, maar dat is het helemaal niet. Vertraging, geen exacte opnames en ga zo maar door. Dus BiaB lijkt voor mij de ideale partner om leuke dingen te doen. Ik ga nog uitzoeken wat er allemaal mee kan, maar wat ik daarover inmiddels zo links en rechts gelezen heb is dat toch behoorlijk wat. Ik laat me verrassen.
Ik ga ook met meer dan gemiddelde belangstelling luisteren naar wat nummers op je site.
